How To Integrate Accounting Software In The Shortest Time?

Accounting information Systemis very critical to every business environment. Almost every popular business software already has its’ solution to integrate with other famous accounting systems. For smaller and in-house development company, they will develop their own accounting, because it is more “cost effective”.

There are 4 types of accounting information system for integration:

Type #1 - Integration Through Software Development Kit provided by vendor.
The Famous system like Quickbook, provide special SDK for partnership / non-competitive join venture to customize and integrate their system; but this is a real problem for smaller company who does not alliance with the big fish!

Type #2 - Integration Through Application Programming Interface.
Some online web accounting will provide remote procedure call or some sort like Application Programming Interface (API) to integrate their system, cost can be a bit stiff.

Type #3 - Open Source Accounting system.
Open source has became the new trend, but commercial environment will always need support from the source code vendor, and they always require the developer to “Open Source” their system as well! This is not always the best way for the commercial business system.

Type #4 - Commercial Royalty Free Accounting Source Code.
The source code vendor will charge the developer one time license, and they are authorized to change, enhance and integrate the software. Because the source code is royalty free, they do not need to pay the vendor for every sale they make .

To find the best accounting information system form source code vendor, there are 3 criteria to be met:

Criteria #1 - Programming method.
The programming method in the source code must be up to date, and always avoid legacy programming style.

Criteria #2 - Unleash compiler advantages.
The source code should utilize the compiler advantages or there is no reason to use them in the first place.

Criteria #3 - Ease to integrate, enhance and modify.
The source code should be clear and easy to read, and with proper documentation for integration and future enhancement.
