I looked through a heap of wedding planner books and decided on a book that was all about planning your wedding in this, the information age.

Our baby girl is getting married in December year. She has been in love with her boyfriend for the past 2 years. The wedding is in 5 months yet she has not even started to plan for it. Not being organized drives me crazy. I am a take charge kind of Gal.
My daughter is different to me. She is details girl at all, she waits to the last second to do anything and never plans. I try not to meddle but when it comes to a wedding, my only daughters wedding, I am afraid I cannot sit by and watch her leave it to the last minute. When she first announced it she told us they would wait a year before for the wedding day until they had saved up a deposit for a new house. I couldn’t help myself. I bought her a wedding planner book if for no other reason than to show her how much detail goes into planning a wedding. When I picked out the book I was amazed at the different wedding planner books on the market. They have books for everything to do with every aspect of a wedding.
I looked through a heap of wedding planner books and decided on a book that was about planning weddings in the technical age. It included how you could apply social networking, social media and the internet to enhance a wedding celebration through online social networking leading into the event.
This approach was what I thought best represented the kind of wedding day my social networking crazy daughter would want.
We were asked over to her place for dinner dinner with her and her fiancé. I told my hubby that I was going to get her to share some of the details about the wedding, or at least get her talking about it to see what she had done regarding planning.
He gave me that look he always does like, don’t interfere now darling?
They had set a firm date which was great news. When we arrived at her place I saw the wedding planner book on the coffee table. To my relief it looked like she had used it quite a bit. To my surprise she was very proud to tell me that they had rented a reception hall, called a caterer, reserved the church and that they were in the process of picking out wedding invitations.
Not only this but she had also published a web page about the wedding day. The page included videos, snippets of the wedding live entertainment and even survey questions asking guests which menu they preferred.
She had a photo album, video players, her invitations, comment boxes, guests books you name it. It was amazing, must have been 15 state of the art multi media tools on the page giving off such a wonderful sense of community for the day ahead.
I was so proud of her and cannot recommend this web service enough , events listed is what the site is called but it includes electronic wedding invitations that she had designed herself that link back to her page where her guests can all network with one another around the event.
I was well impressed with her effort, it made me feel like getting married again. We didn’t have any of this whiz band technology back in my day.
The application even had an event planning & budgeting management interface as its back end that including an Event planning check list.
It was all FREE. I will never know how all these great services make money when they give such great stuff away without charge.
All said and done I was just so happy to see my baby shinning with joy because she felt really good about herself for accomplishing all these things on her own.
I was great to see my baby had grown up and I was happy that I hadn’t spoiled the process by interfering.
