The First Steps In Troubleshooting a Blue Screen Of Death With a PC Optimizer

Everyone has problems with their PCs, and the dreaded phrase PC Troubleshooting is increasingly used, while PC troubleshooting services are still as bad at solving problems as they always have been. So before you throw your PC out the window, take some time to make sure that the basics are up to speed and all working properly. If it still doesn’t work, then reconsider the window.

Take Safety Precautions

Before you attempt to do anything with the hardware, it’s vital that you switch your PC off. You won’t electrocute yourself just by touching the back of your PC, but while PC troubleshooting, static can build up and you could end up electrocuting yourself
next time you touch something metallic. So switch off and leave it for a minute or so before fiddling with anything round the back.

Is everything plugged in and switched on? Silly question but let’s just get that cleared up first. If your computer won’t switch on at all then this could be the cause. After this, check that all the leads that need to be plugged into the back of your PC are actually plugged into the back of your computer, and in the correct sockets, the correct way up. If something isn’t plugged in properly, it’s probably just because it’s come loose over time, which is a common Computer problem.

Is Everything Back In Place?

If you tried to go the extra step when had a computer problem you were last PC troubleshooting, then check to see that you put everything back the way it could be. When you’re playing with the internal parts, it’s incredibly easy to forget a screw or put something back slightly incorrectly, which has caused loose circuitry, ending in an entire system shutdown.

If when you were last PC Troubleshooting you didn’t have a clue what you were doing, then you probably still don’t know, so get someone who does to rectify the problem. You’ll only make it worse if you try it yourself.

Checking The Fans

Cooling fans in your system are intended to keep the system cool, as you may expect. Your PC has an optimum temperature, so an important part of PC troubleshooting is to make sure that it runs at this temperature by cleaning out the fans. PC parts get hot, and if they get too hot they won’t work, so remove dust from the fan and check it still spins freely without getting stuck.

Once you’ve checked everything on the outside is in good order, switch your computer on. If it refuses to even show a light, the next step of PC troubleshooting is a trip to your local computer store to get it looked at. If on the other hand it springs to life but still isn’t working as you’d quite hoped, use the troubleshooting programs located within the PC to sort out any further problems.

Exhausting all methods of basic PC troubleshooting should be quick but with any luck will solve your problem. If not, then take it to a professional. If they can’t get it sorted, no one will, and once again, throwing it out the window becomes an attractive option.
