Suggestions For The Big And Tall Man To Style In Comfortable Attire

Big and tall clothes aren’t always the most stylish, while smaller clothes never seem to fit right. But, it is possible to be a big or tall man (or both)and still dress and look stylish. To find out how, keep reading.

Skip the Too-Big and Baggy Look

Fabric that flaps and sways in the wind is rarely attractive. Now, imagine six and-a-half feet of that fabric draping and hanging. To avoid looking like a tall drape or curtain, stay away from clothes that are too baggy. Instead, stick with clothes that fit.

Understandably, if you’re tall and thin, it can be hard to find clothing that’s long enough without being too baggy. For slim-fitting clothing that’s designed for a taller man, try shopping at stores that carry tall brands.

Get Loose

Just as too baggy can be very unflattering for the tall man, so can too tight. If you’re tall and thin, clothes that are too snug will accentuate that feature. If you’re both big and tall, these same clothes will have a similar effect, accenting the features you may prefer to disguise.

Stay Away from Vertical Lines

Vertical lines on shirts only work to accentuate your height, making you appear longer and taller. Instead, opt for horizontal lines or small plaids. If you’re a big man and looking for big and tall clothes that will downplay your girth, choose small patterns or plain, dark colors.

Wear a High Rise Pant

Unless you’re buying your pants in a specialty height store, you should always be buying high-rise pants. Big and tall men often have problems with the crotch of their pants being too short or too small. Avoid all that uncomfortable bunching and twisting by buying pants with a higher rise that fits you through the crotch.

Stop Showing Off Your Socks

Ever try on a pair of standard pants only to find they look like Capris on you? Avoid that problem by opting for a longer inseam and shopping at stores that carry apparel for big and tall men. Ideally, you want the bottom of your pant to fall gracefully on to your shoe when you’re standing.

Opt for a Flat Front Trouser

Particularly if you’re big and tall, pleated trousers will only accentuate any extra weight around the midsection. Instead, opt for a flat front trouser as an essential element of your big and tall clothes closet. These are also a good fit for tall men in general as pleats can actually elongate the leg, making a man appear even taller.
