Recycle Old Decorative Candles

Wednesday, August 27th, 2008

When it comes to a romantic date, you need a setting to match. If you want to make things more romantic, you could look at accessories that will add to the feeling. Many love the feeling that flowers and candles add to romance.

There is something about candlelight that is so soothing and relaxing. In fact, you can go one better and make the mood more romantic with colored fragrant candles. Alluring as these may be, they can turn out to be costly when used on a regular basis. Making one’s own fragrant, colorful candles to enjoy, is a good way to go, without the high cost.

Gather up all of your old candles and place all of them in one container, then place this container inside of another large container that has water in it and then place it on a fire. The water will boil and melt the wax nevertheless do not put the vessel containing the wax directly on the fire as this may prove to be hazardous. In a situation where you don’t have enough candles, purchase some new ones in bulk quantities so that you are able to keep the cost down and it will definitely be a whole lot cheaper than the store’s exorbitant prices.

Aluminum containers though hot to touch when wax is poured are the best. Old glasses and disposable paper cups can be used for simple tumbler-look varieties.

The wick can be made out of an old candle wick or out of white cotton straw. Make the wick taut by rubbing wax on it and then insert it into the melted wax in the mould. When you add the color to the wax, do it slowly as you keep mixing it so you can stop as soon as you get the color you want. Now pour the melted wax into the mould and insert the wick slowly so it goes down to the bottom.

Melt wax in various containers and add different colors to them if you would like to make candles with layers of multi colors. Make sure that the mould you choose for a multicolored candle is tall which allows the layers to show but the manner in which you pour the different colors is important. The colored wax must be poured into the container after the first layer has cooled off. You need to do this if you don’t want to end up with an awful colored candle.

Fragrance must be added after the color as the last step, as any additional stirring and heating can cause loss of fragrance.

Fragrances are widely available, ranging from floral like rose and jasmine to lemon grass, tea tree and musk. Put the mould in the freezer after you have added the color, fragrance and the wick so that the candle can be taken out easily.

It is common to use a theme when planning a . A theme can provide the right direction in the planning and organizing aspect of the .

The first step in using a theme for a is to choose on the theme. In some cases it may be simple to choose a theme because you can base it upon your child’s interests. For example, if there is a certain cartoon character your child loves then use that as a theme.

In case you are stuck in identifying the right theme for the , you can settle with a simple one. For example , a circus theme. Another option is to adapt the child’s age as the theme - such as for a three year old, you could revolve the around the number 3.

After having firmed up the theme, you can use such as your guide in the planning process.

You are going to need to gather your supplies and plan out your food and activities. The general idea with a theme is to keep it as the main focus for every aspect of the , so choose your supplies with relevance toyour theme.

You should choose supplies that are related to your theme. Remember , though, that you can reduce your expenses by using some items that match the theme’s general color scheme instead of being actual theme items. For example, for a with a Barbie theme , you can also use pink items. This can save a lot of money.

You may be inclined to go for themed items that should come with your invitations, goodie bags and a few décor items, like the table cloth and balloons. However, for practical reasons you can buy one bag of themed balloons and one bag of colored balloons so you have a lot of balloons, but for far less cost.

Activities lined up for the must be relevant to the theme. In some cases, this makes planning activities very easy. If you have a circus theme , for example, you can hire|invite a clown, play like bean bag toss and pin the tail on the donkey. It is alright , though, if not all your activities conform your theme.

The food can also go along with the theme. If you have decided to follow Mexican theme then serve Mexican foods. It is not necessary thought that all food matches the theme, but at least make a point to match the cake with the theme.

It can be very fun to come up with ideas about how to incorporate a theme into the different aspects of a . It promotes creativity . Once you choose your theme you should sit and brainstorm a bit about everything you can do with your theme.

Having a theme for a will help you be able to choose your supplies, activities and foods easily. You can stick to the theme as much or as little as you like. There really are no rules, except that you should have fun with your theme and be creative

Throwing A Kids Birthday Party For Younger Children Can Be Simple

Sunday, May 18th, 2008

A simple birthday party for toddlers is all about being simple. Kids between 2-3 years old are not going to notice that things are not perfect or expensive or even that they are better than someone else’s. All they look for is just pure fun and that’s what you should look out for.

Knowing that the main goal is that your toddler and their young friends have a good time, then you will find planning the can be pretty easy.

You should kick off by deciding a simple theme. Go with something your child will recognize. Think about your child’s interests. If they have a favorite character (like Barney or Mickey Mouse) or something they are interested in (like Drawing or shopping!) then that would be a great idea for a theme.

Try to choose a theme that will be easy to work with. Avoid something that will require a large amount of work. Remember you are trying to keep things simple.

Once you have decided on a theme you should choose decorations and supplies that match your theme. Again, keep this simple. For decorations you can use some streamers and balloons.

You should choose food that is suitable for your guests and your kid and should not too messy. Try using cupcakes instead of cake. Or try nuggets and fries. They are easier to serve and easier for kids to eat.

If you do have a couple of older kids to consider a birthday party face painter

Age appropriateness should be the main consideration throughout the planning. Besides thinking about age appropriate with food, you should also think about it when planning decorations, and other activities. Also, you should plan for adult help for supervising the kids at the . You want to make sure the guests have fun and if someone gets hurt the fun stops. So, be ready and prepared ahead of time.

Toddlers enjoy a variety of stuff and like to keep themselves busy. Think about activities that will cause little mess, otherwise, you will have to clean it and the children up.

Choose simple activities that will require minimal help, so you do not have to have an adult to help every kid. decide to plan activities|If you are doing something[/spin] that could be messy be sure you have aprons or smocks for the children to wear so they do not dirty their clothing.

Planning a simple for the young ones should not be complex. It should be something that be easy to work with. You want to just make sure that your kid’s friends are having fun. It is easy to have fun without spending a lot of money or coming up with some elaborate idea.

Your child is sure to love their as long as they have a good time. To most toddlers having their friends over to play and getting some and cake is usually more than enough enough to make them happy.

From 0 to 200 in less than 6 seconds

Sunday, February 3rd, 2008

Rick was in trouble. He forgot his wedding anniversary.   His wife was really angry. She told him “Tomorrow morning, I expect to find a gift in the driveway that goes from 0 to 200 in less than 6 seconds AND IT BETTER BE THERE!!”

The next morning Rick got up early and left for work.  When his wife woke up she looked out the window and sure enough there was a box gift-wrapped in the middle of the driveway.  Confused, the wife put on her robe and ran out to the driveway, and brought the box back in the house. She opened it and found a brand new bathroom scale.

Rick has been missing since Friday. Please pray for him.
