From Army Boots To Lawn Treatment, Advice On Men’s Gifts

Friday, November 7th, 2008

baskets are cool, but can you give one to a man? Of course you can, but it takes a little more thought than just some creams and lotions like you see in women’s gift bags and baskets. In fact, forget about the idea of a gift basket and just go for the overall group gift. Instead of putting one item in a box, place several related items together as a large present.
For a man, you have to think outside the box, or basket that is.

Themed baskets for men always work well; for example baseball - might include a team replica ball, some snack foods normally eaten at ball games like peanuts, popcorn and candy. Decorate the basket in team colors and include a team pendant. Most men love candy and snack foods so fill a basket with his favorite food items including hard candies, chocolates, salty snack bags, and gum. A golf basket may include golf tees and balls, a filled in score card with high marks, shoelaces and a favorite brand of sunglasses.

The basket designed for a man can be something that fits his style. If he is a handy man around the house pick up a paint bucket and glue pictures of tools on it. Fill the bucket with his favorite snacks (cookies, candy, gum, crackers) and throw in a couple of movie passes or game passes and you have a perfect gift basket (bucket). If your man is a golfer instead of a basket use a smaller insulated cooler and fill it with candy golf balls, cookies, hard candies, his favorite coffee beans, and toss in some golf tees, golf balls and a golf hat.

Not every gift for a man needs to include food either. If your guy works outside, perhaps a new pair of tactical boots stuffed with fresh warm socks and some gloves would be a nice replacement. If he likes lawn and landscaping, some lawn treatment items may be in order, or for winter, a bucket of driveway deicer and snow shovel may be an appreciated gift.

I know we are getting out of the realm of gift baskets here, but you are getting the picture. There are also any number of small items to stuff around your chosen gift bucket. Here are some personalized gift items to include in any themed or hobby gift basket for men:
*personalized money clip
*photo frame
*MP3 Player
*coffee travel mug
*music downloads

The idea is to offer a bunch of small , all personalized for him. With men, you really can’t go wrong.

How to Take Care of How to Handle Promotional Gifts Wisely

Friday, October 10th, 2008

Are promotional gifts a waste of time or a valuable selling resource? Well, by the promotional that I have received recently, including from companies who themselves specialise in these products, I’m certain that many companies like what happens with promotional .

I was speaking to a customer who has recently started dropping a promotional mousemat into all outgoing orders. Just one mat per order, but that’s enough. Since starting that repeat business has increased and he’s also started mailing the mousemats out to those customers that haven’t ordered for a while, also with a decent success rate.

The biggest problem encountered with any promotional items is lack of time. All too often I hear that people have been struggling to get promotional items produced in time for their event. They have started looking around the market 10 days before the event, with no idea what they want or what the finished article will have printed on it.

Start earlier. Allow 3 weeks from agreeing with your supplier how the logo will be printed to receipt of the items at your office. Add on a week or two to get proofs made and the same again for shopping around and getting quotes, and you really need to be starting your planning 5 - 8 weeks before the event, more if you then have to ship the items elsewhere.

Many people hear talk of proofs, logo formats and the likes. If this starts to go over your head then tell the promotional company you are dealing with that you need extra help. Don’t be afraid of them! If they don’t help or still can’t talk in your terms, go elsewhere.

OK, if it’s an umbrella with a huge printing surface then a website logo is unlikely to print well, but with items such as pens, just a name and phone number is likely to be sufficient.

Make sure that you choose something suited to the recipients and something that they will keep and use again. That way, they will be more likely to remember you and use your services again in the future, The don’t have to be expensive, just don’t always go for pens!

Whatever you decided to do, promotional can drive further sales and custom. Make sure you allow time and don’t be afraid if the contact starts getting too technical - just tell them to come down to your level. You are the customer, after all!

You can also try to apply for a government grant online - if this works out, you will have more money for promo.

A Business Chocolate Gift For The Newcomer In Your Office

Friday, October 10th, 2008

If you think back to when you first started your job, you can probably recall it as having been a rather intimidating experience. You were faced with a new kind of work, and may have been unsure of how well you would do with it; there were new coworkers and bosses, and you were probably uncertain as to whether you were making the right kind of impression. If you think about it, wouldn’t it have eased your reservations and helped you to feel more at home in your new office if someone had done something special to welcome you there?

You can do that “something special” to welcome the newcomer to your office by giving him a Chocolate Corporate Gift to introduce him to his new world. Whether the newcomer is a very young person, fresh out of college, or a middle-ager who has been in the workforce for many years, almost everyone comes to a new job with apprehensions; and those apprehensions can begin to quickly disappear when he is treated to something nice by his manager or a coworker.

A chocolate corporate gift basket can be an appropriate welcoming gift for any newcomer. He will certainly appreciate your consideration when he receives something that is tasteful, understated, and very special. If you had not thought of giving a gift to a newcomer, especially a corporate gift, this is all the more reason why doing so will assist him in feeling more welcome and at home in his new workplace. It will certainly come as an unexpected and pleasant surprise.

If you are still not convinced that this would be a good idea, think about the sense of teamwork that is a vital part of how your office works so well. Surely the newcomer will see himself as part of the team if he is shown that he is an important part of it. What better way to make sure that he knows this than by giving him something special upon his arrival?

Especially in a small office where all of the employees have worked and known each other for a long time, this act of thoughtfulness can have quite a positive impact on someone who has just come into the office for the first time and is filled with uncertainties about fitting in with everyone. Gift Baskets will go a long way in removing those uncertainties quite quickly.

A chocolate corporate gift basket will give a number of positive messages to the newcomer. First, it will let him know without a doubt that he is a welcome part in his new place of employment. In addition, it will help to give him the reassurance that you have confidence that he will do his job well, that he too has an important role in the team. While of course it is not necessary for this to be an extravagent gift, a token of your appreciation for his new role in your office is a wonderful idea that he will surely appreciate very much in return.

Innovative Ways To Create A Chocolate Gift Baskets For Anyone

Wednesday, October 8th, 2008

A chocolate filled gift basket would be a great gift for the chocolate lover. If done correctly, a chocolate gift basket can make the recipient’s heart water. The contents of the Unique Chocolate Gift Baskets can make it stand out.

The more time put into making a gift basket, the more decorative and attractive it can be. This can be appealing to the recipient of the gift basket and it might make them not want to open it, but display it for decoration. A chocolate gift basket can use different kinds of containers; it’s not limited to just a wicker basket with a handle. You can get more creative and choose a basket without a handle, or one that has a distinct shape. You can also select a festive colored box-shaped container, or smaller boxes stacked on top of each other to create a tower.

The liners for the gift basket can match the basket or container, using a white, cream, beige brown, or gold color. Liners add depth to the basket to make it stand out. You can request plain or decorative paper liners. Some people prefer to use shredded paper.

What goes in the gift basket depends on the recipient’s taste. If you’re not sure what they like, you may want to have someone else ask them. If this is a surprise, you don’t want to arouse suspicion. Most Gift Baskets have one item that is larger than the others to make it stand out. You don’t have to select that one big thing; you can have an arrangement of smaller chocolate items and it would be just as good.

There are many different items to choose from to make your gift basket look special. If you’re into luxury chocolates, you can choose a bar or miniature sized box of Godiva or Lindt chocolates. Luxury chocolates are worth the money and they show that you have good taste. Or if those brands are not in your budget, Ghiradelli chocolates might be an option for you.

For the smaller chocolate items, you can add whatever you want. Mix the items so there will be a variety. The smaller items cost less and complement the larger item(s). Some suggestions include hot chocolate mix, miniature chocolate bars, chocolate kisses, chocolate coins, chocolate hearts and small molded chocolate items. These fillers can add value to the gift basket. You can also choose to add chocolate or fudge sauces, toppings or samples of chocolate gourmet items to the mix.

If you’re looking for something different, try chocolate covered pretzels, chocolate cookies, chocolate chips or chocolate covered raisins. You can use the chocolate sauces as a fruit dip. However, you can’t let it sit around too long or it will spoil. If you’re looking for a gift basket with a different twist, try brownies-in-a-jar. This will be great for someone who likes to cook. If you do give this as a gift, be sure to have the instructions along with it.

You can slightly deviate from having an all chocolate gift basket. You can use substitutes like peanut butter, coffee, or vanilla. The recipient may like that arrangement better, because there is a variety. As you can see, there is no shortage of ideas for your chocolate gift basket.

Consider Gift Baskets This Fall Season For The Trick Or Treating Kids

Thursday, October 2nd, 2008

If you are considering something different for the holidays of fall then you may want to consider Gift Baskets this year. These festive arrangements can be bought already assembled or you can make your own. This unique craft will be a hit with of all ages.

Many people immediately think that a Halloween gift basket would be a huge arrangement. This kind of item is commonly used for presents and special occasions. However, Halloween gift baskets can come in all sorts of sizes. You can make tiny ones for visiting neighborhood children or you can make that big display for a special family.

One family I have become very close to over the years does not celebrate the Halloween holiday. Instead, the family spends time playing games or they may go out to a movie instead. As the children became more and more aware of the festivities that they were missing I decided to make them Halloween gift baskets.

This project had to be approached very carefully because of the parents’ opposition to many of the themes of the Halloween holiday. Instead of constructing Halloween gift baskets in black and orange I decided to use red and white. I chose these colors for a specific theme.

Instead of making formal Halloween gift baskets, I made night out at the movies baskets. The items I chose included popcorn balls arranged in movie theatre popcorn holders. I added some of their favorite sodas as well as other movie theater treats. Under all of the treats were nice, comfortable fall pajamas for each of the girls.

The girls were thrilled with the night out at the movies theme and they seemed to forget all about missing dress up for the holiday when they found their pajamas. I also made sure to include a fun movie in the Halloween gift baskets as well.

Not everyone celebrates every holiday. I have made many Halloween gift baskets over the years of all shapes and sizes. The night at the movies baskets were just as fun to make and I had a great opportunity to share a little bit of holiday spirit without celebrating the actual holiday.

The other in the neighborhood did receive traditional Halloween gift baskets filled with spooky treats and they were thrilled. I was just glad that I could do something a little extra special for my special family as well.

Finding Gifts For Kids Doesn’t Have To Be Hard

Thursday, September 25th, 2008

When it comes to finding Gifts for Kids, you have a lot of choices. The amount of stuff in the stores can be overwhelming, and your may tell you they want everything. You may also be faced with multiple relatives who are asking you what they should get for your kid for either their birthday or for Christmas. When this happens, you have to be prepared or your child may end up with repeated , or a bunch of stuff that drives you crazy.

First, you should find out what your kid wants. Make up a list of the things they really seem to want, and then add the things you may think they need. When it comes to for children, you and your will have different ideas about what makes a good gift. Narrow the list down so that there are some toys and other fun things, but also include some items like clothes, movies and the other things they may want, but don’t make a priority.

You should then decide which of the for children you want to get for your , and then give the rest of the list to relatives. Give each relative a few different ideas so there are not repeated toys and other items. Tell them which toys you think your child will want the most, but also suggest that clothes, books, and other practical items are also a good idea. This is a great idea if you have a family like mine. They always go overboard buying for my daughter, and we could open a toy store with the amount of stuff she gets. It makes life around here very difficult around the holidays.

When you are looking for gift baskets for , make sure you shop early. There are many times when a toy becomes popular, and you can’t find what you are looking for if you wait until the day before Christmas. This had happened to me more than once. There is also the problem of hard to find for . My daughter was Wiggles crazy on her third Christmas, and there was nothing else she was interested in. Wiggles toys and clothing were scarce around me, so I am glad I started shopping early. I had to get most of her Christmas that year online, but that was OK. She at least had what she wanted, and I was able to find some great deals on gift baskets for by shopping on online.

Anniversary Gift - Show That You Care

Tuesday, September 23rd, 2008

It’s always a little bit tough to pick out the perfect Anniversary Gift for my wife. You see, we do something special for the anniversary every year. A sort of informal agreement was agreed upon. We each take turns to surprise each other. On our anniversary last year, she surprised me with a trip to Hawaii. To this day, I’m still puzzled where she got the money, but apparently she had been scrimping and saving for quite a while. The trip was the best anniversary gift that I ever received, without a doubt.

Click through if you prefer an article about other Cool Gift Ideas.

An anniversary gift she won’t forget

This year though, I don’t have as much money for anniversary for her. I have only put away a couple hundred dollars – not enough and a mere pittance compared to a tropical vacation getaway for two. Nonetheless, I want to surprise her with something very special. I know there are a bunch of anniversary gift ideas, but just picking out one thing is not enough.

When picking a wedding anniversary present, for me, presentation is as important as the present itself. Everything should go together perfectly for it be right. It would not be enough to just put a ring in a box and wrap it up, if I decided to give her one. Maybe I would have her go on a scavenger hunting trip, where she gets the ring as the last prize. Or perhaps leave the ring to a place and find it where she leasts expect it, say, on the table or on her night stand. As long as it really charms her, it doesn’t matter exactly what the surprise is.

An anniversary gift that counts

Of course, handmade ones are sometimes the best for anniversaries and special occasions. A few years ago, I made her a book. Not just any book. It was all about us and our relationship, the book was a collection of poetry, photos, and pictures. It was done in beautiful calligraphy and it was handmade. To hear her say that she was blown away by it would be understating the case. She was absolutely shocked and in awe. She adored and loved it. She still keeps it on her bedside table even to this day.

The right anniversary card can also make a huge difference. Don’t just stop by a convenience store before the event to look for anniversary cards – find one that is very special. After all, if you put all that thought into the anniversary gift, why not extend the thought with the anniversary card, right? If you don’t, it looks like you have let yourself and your wife down.
